Instructions:

Everyone has seen a movie or read a book about treasure hunters. The hero hears word of a treasure and starts to follow the clues he or she finds until...

From that point on the stories differ, but that is how they all start :). You and your family can have fun being treasure hunters as well!

Start by taking pieces of paper and writing clues on them. For instance:
I wonder where rabbits would keep their food in our house? Which might lead the seekers to think of carrots or lettuce, which in turn would lead them to the vegetable drawer in your fridge.

So, then place another clue in the Vegetable Drawer pointing them to somewhere else. You can place as many clues as you want, depending on how much time you have to hide them and the treasure hunters have to find them.

At the end of the last clue (i.e. The nearest bit of winter around - Freezer), there is a surprise, maybe in this case a box of ice cream sandwiches.

If you have younger children the clues might need to be easier. It does take a bit of time to come up with the clues, but it's fun!

The prize at the end doesn't have to be expensive, even just a lost reading book, a note saying how special they are, a picture of them you just had developed, or a plate of homemade cookies :-)
