Nothing tastes as good as fresh vegetables from your own plants. It really isn't that hard to grow your own indoor veggies. Just a little time, water and sunshine and you'll be eating fresh peas and beans before you know it! 1. First, wash out the containers. I recommend using Cool-Whip containers, Sour Cream containers, or something of the same size. Fill them about 3/4 full with the potting soil. Add water to the soil; not so much that it stops soaking in, but enough to wet the top half of the container. 2. Now make an indent into which you will put the seed. The easiest way to do this is with your finger! Just stick it in the dirt to the second knuckle or so. 3. Drop a seed in the whole and fill the hole with a bit more potting soil. Then wait. 4. Be sure to keep the soil damp, not soaked. Too much water as well as too little water can damage plants. Usually a light sprinkling once a day is enough. 5. In a week or so you'll see little green things sticking up! Just keep em damp and give them sunlight and they'll do their part. Flower seeds work very good too. Look through your local Greenhouse or Nursery to find plants you might like. They usually have seeds there for about $1 per packet (50 seeds or so).
