Popcorn is a healthy and tasty snack. Whether you make it in the microwave or a pan on the stove you can always make it a bit more interesting.

Start by popping up a bit of popcorn. To make it in the microwave, just follow the bag instructions and listen for the popping to stop. If you are making it in the pan, or would like to try to, you can follow the directions below:

For the Pan Poppers:

1. Using a tall pot brings the best results, I've found. Cover the bottom with popcorn kernels. Don't put more than that in to start with. Just make sure there aren't so many that they can't all lay flat on the bottom of the pan.

2. Add oil to the pan of kernels. Just enough to cover the kernels half way or so. Probably a few Tablespoons. Then turn on the heat!

3. Put a lid on the pan and wait for the kernels to start popping. You will hear them bouncing around in the pan. Once they start (*ping* *pop* *poing*)ing, give the pan a little shake to let the unpopped kernels fall to the bottom of the popped ones.

4. Once the popping has slowed to 1 pop per 2 seconds or so dump all the popcorn into a large bowl.

For the Microwavers:

Once your popcorn is popped, dump it out of the bag into a large bowl.

The rest of the story:

Pour melted butter over the bowl of popcorn, stirring occasionally. The butter allows the seasonings to stick to the popcorn.

Now just add whatever sounds good! I think my favorite way to have popcorn is with Lemon Pepper. I would definately give that a try. Cinnamon and Sugar are excellent for a change from normal butter and salt.

Go throw a DVD in the player and head for the couch, or head for the park with your lovely bowl of scruptious popcorn.
